My Data Will Not Update

Here are a couple things to check if your charts do not show the current price bar:

1) Play Control set to Red, Yellow, or Lock: This applies to trial users and clients who have purchased the Accounting & Simulator Plug-in. The Accounting & Simulator Plug-in includes a Play Controls Toolbar that is loaded, by default, on the right side of the chart window. The Play Control button is the first button on this toolbar which displays as an arrow surrounded by a green box. This tool is used for paper trading and back testing. *If this tool is set to red, yellow or lock, your charts will not display new data after running a Data Update.

2) Expired Contract Month: Are you viewing a contract which has expired? You may check the status of the contract month by select the Key tab located in the Control Panel. You may also activate the Last Trading Day from your Chart Preferences to display the contract expiration directly onto your chart window.

3) Closed Sessions: In July 2015 the CME Group closed all pit sessions. To continue getting market data updates you will need to switch which session you are using. For example instead of using "LH - Cattle, Live (Open Outcry - Closed)", you should use "+LH - Cattle, Live" or "+LH - Cattle, Live (Combined)." You may need to use the Commodity Chooser to select the other session if you do not have it selected.

4) For Non-Trial Users: Have you purchased a Data Subscription or has your Data Subscription passed the renewal date? If you require a Data Subscription, please contact a Gecko representative: contact us If you have previously purchased a Data Subscription and do not know if it has yet expired, you may check the status of your service by logging into your Gecko Account Manager from your Track 'n Trade Help Menu - My Account Manager

My Options Will Not Update

When you find that you are not seeing your full Options data, there are a few things you can initially check before contacting technical support:

1) Have you selected all the sessions for that commodity? Some Options data may be combined into the data from other sessions of the same commodity. ie: Corn (Combined) Options data may also be integrated into the Corn (Open Outcry) data. Select all of the data in the Commodity Chooser for the specified Futures contract, then run a data download.

2) Have the Options for this commodity expired? Make sure you are viewing charts where the options have not expired. You can see the Options expiration date from the Key tab of your Track 'n Trade software. When options have expired, the Call and Put buttons will appear grayed out and the Options Tab will appear blank. Try playing the chart back in time to see options data prior to expiration or switch to the current front month.

3) What chart type are you viewing? To see Options data for a commodity, you will only be able to do this on a regular daily chart. If you view a Long Term Daily, Weekly, or Monthly chart you will NOT be able to view Options data.

4) Lastly, and most important of all: Do you have an Options Data Subscription? To receive current Options data, you will need to purchase a data subscription.

Rebuilding Options Data

If you are still unable to view your full options data after checking the suggestions listed above in: 'My Options Will Not Update', or you are seeing an excessive amount of Black & Scholes data from your Options Data tab following a Data Update, please try the following:

Rebuilding Options Data:

1. It is important that you not open any charts while performing this task. Close all active charts and ensure that "Remember Last Book" is NOT checked in the File menu.

2. Go to the View menu - Commodity Chooser.

3. Find the commodities that you believe may not be updating correctly in the Commodity Chooser; uncheck each session for that commodity and then select OK.

4. Close and restart the software.

5. Open the Commodity Chooser and reselect the commodities including each session, then select OK.

6. Allow the software to complete the historical data download that occurs after selecting OK.

7. Lastly, perform a Data Update to bring the historical data to the current date

8. You may now reopen your saved charting files or a new contract.

Why do my Autopilot trade results appear differently than I remember?

It is very important to save your Autopilot systems into saved chart books. Doing this will insure that your indicator settings will be saved. Autopilot saved systems (systems saved within the Autopilot Tab and not the File menu) do not include the indicator customization used at the time saved. Saving your systems into chart books will ensure that your Autopilot system is paired with the correct chart, indicator settings, and signals.

How do I share/store my Autopilot results?

The very best method to share or store Autopilot results is by creating a saved book from the File menu - Save. You may then send this same book to other Autopilot traders as well.

You may also print and store copies of your system by selecting "Print" found in the bottom-left of your Autopilot control panel.

*Hint* After selecting Print, there is an option available to "Print as Graphic". Selecting this feature will create a picture showing all of your autopilot settings, trades and results that can be saved to your computer!

How do I renew my data service?

You may renew your data service online here: Data Service

I see Open Outcry, Electronic and Combined charting, which do I use?

The Open Outcry session is the pit day trading session only. This was the primary session for trading commodities historically, but the majority of trading volume today occurs electronically.

The Electronic session will display the electronic trading session for your desired market. The majority of trading volume today is within the electronic trading session.

The Combined session will display a combination of both the Electronic and Open Outcry sessions. Because the majority of trading is performed within one session of a market (Open Outcry or Electronic), viewing the Combined session will ensure that you always view the highest volume charting information.

Is there a way that I may reach you by phone?
